I have a hard time believing O'Malleys intentions were to keep the team in Brooklyn, all the while, meeting with the Los Angeles crew, and buying LA Wrigley Field for a "farm team."

Don Newcome was on, and Newk said that O'Malley had offered Los Angeles to Stoneham, or San Fancisco. He stated that Horace said San Francisco because they had a AAA affiliate there. My question is, is there any validty to this? I would highly doubt that O'Malley, being the businessman that he was, would ever offer the Los Angeles area to Stoneham. Heck, he wouldn't allow Gene Autry to bring the Angels into the league at first.

I always heard that it was up to Stoneham what city he wanted and he picked SF. after all, in those days SF was considered the "bigger" city, more cosmopolitan and all. LA was still considered a "big" small town, with only Hollywood as its industry. LA had "potential", but SF was already an "established" city.
