As best as I can tell Dick Gray never wore a BROOKLYN DODGERS uniform. He didn't enter the Major Leagues until 1958 and at that time the BROOKLYN DODGERS no longer existed.

      Well, Brooklyn Boy,

Right you are...except that he did wear the Brooks uni leading up to 1958 during his many springs in Dodgertown...any recollections on his up and coming minor league career including St. Paul and Fort Worth?

I was a big Dodgers fan in those days and I don't recall this guy at all. Even after reading his name, see his picture, and looking up his stats I have no recall of him.

Dick Gray a third baseman, Jim Gentile a firstbaseman and Don Demeter a center fielder were supposed to be the future of the Brooklyn Dodgers. During the trip to Japan after the 1956 season all three players played extremly well, and were expected to contibute to the Dodgers in 1957. All three were sent back to the minors. During the 57 season the Dodgers had a rash of injuries to their infield, even useing Bob Kennedy at third, but never called Gray up. For some reason management was more concearned about moving, then about trying to win the pennant.
