Former Brooklyn Dodger and long time coach and manager Don Zimmer has passed away. Zimmer recently had heart surgery and was a special advisor for the Tampa Bay Rays.

Zimmer might have had a good ML career had he not suffered two serious beanings. He was a pretty multi-talented player when young, and had some pop in his bat for a middle infielder of that era. -
Among his many distinctions, he fielded the ground ball that became the final out at Ebbets Field.
