  • The Marlins

The circus athmosphere that once surrounded the Montreal Expos has now moved to Miami. Loria and Samson are busy wheeling and dealing and multiple cities are filirting with the idea of bringing the Marlins to their town.

How closely have you been watching this affair. I keep seeing those familiar names (Loria and Samson) and I just know that troubles are brewing.

I think this story sort of ties in with our the last years of our franchise. Feel free to post your thoughts about the whole Marlins situation here, if you have any.

There are already dead, buried, and moving to Norfolk . . . . just kidding.

The ******** (Loria, Samson, Selig) deserve what's happening now.
      Can anyone spell déja-vû?

Listen, unfortunately for marlins fans, they will no longer have a team.
Who thinks Jeffrey Loria should be sentenced for life in jail for destroying 2 franchises: Nos Amours and Les Poissons, SINGLEHANDEDLY!

Marlins fans, I have pity, good luck, this might affect you as much as it did to me.

I have sympathy for the fans in Miami, but not much of it. After all, Loria destroyed their franchise AFTER winning a world series. Here in Montréal, he did just one of those things.
From now until the end of September, I'll be chronicling in real time on Twitter the 1946 season of the International league's Montréal Royals, when Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in professional baseball. Check it out: https://twitter.com/Royals_46season

Somehow I never felt very excited about the Marlins franchise.

But I can not say that I want the team to move. I think about the fans. They are in the same situation as you were when Loria owned the Expos.

I feel sorry for the fans, although it seems that there are not many in Florida (correct me if I'm wrong).

Indeed Loria should be banned to St. Helena, far from civilisation. For life that is.

i wondered the same thing. i think newark is very close to new york and all that so its 'region' is probably alot bigger.

this is my first time posting on this board, i'm a jays fan but i definatly miss the expos and the rivalry so i wish all you diehard expo fans good luck on gettign your team back

Let's see, that's Las Vegas, Portland and now Norfolk, hmmm...
The Boy Blunder is certainly adding to his frequent-flyer mileage, isn't he.

Someone mentioned somewhere that New Jersey might be a better alternative than Norfolk. Methinks George might have something to say about that.

I guess BS can only concentrate on one issue at a time, that being the Nats Stadium. We haven't heard anything from him about the Marlins situation, except he's given approval for them to seek other venues.

Psst, Bud, better get your act together, the CBA expires at the end of THIS SEASON!!! Of course if past history is any indication, you're gonna wait until the last minute on that, (the CBA), and all us fans could be looking at another strike/lockout next year. Thanks, bud, keep up the good work, NOT!

Now the latest news involving the Marlins is that MLB is trying to get them to play a brief stint in Puerto Rico. Atleast it isn't as far a trip to San Juan from Miami then Montreal, but I still think this is a disgrace.

It really is happening all over again. How does the players association sit idly by and just twidle their thumbs. Shouldn't they put BS and Dupuy back in line?

                    What a mess...
