  • Prayers for RUSTY STAUB

Hello, it's been a very long time since I last posted in BB-Fever, but I would like to encourage all baseball fans,
most especially Montreal Expos and NY Mets fans, to send prayers and best wishes to All Star Rusty Staub, who
is presently battling extreme kidney failure and not responding to dialysis.

Montrealers, please forgive the New York Post's lack of emphasis on Le Grande Orange's impact on the Montreal Expos
and their fans: First Expos All-Star (1969), until being traded to the NY Mets in early 1972, Rusty was the face of the Expos
    franchise.

I really hope he gets well... Not a single media got that news in Quebec province.

Rest in peace, Le Grand Orange… My best baseball memory involves him, when he came back with the Expos in 1979. And it happens I was there: he goes to pinch hit in the first game of a double-header against Pittsburgh on July 27, bottom of the 8th inning, and gets a standing ovation that lasts for 6 minutes + from the 59,260 crowd. Magic moment!
