thanks for le tuyau, Slaff. Been a while I had been looking for that list (c'est pas dans le media guide... )

Wasn't Felipe Alou the coach of the Denver Bears at some point?
From now until the end of September, I'll be chronicling in real time on Twitter the 1946 season of the International league's Montréal Royals, when Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in professional baseball. Check it out: https://twitter.com/Royals_46season

      1981 Denver Bears (AAA)
      1982-83 Wichita Aeros (AAA)
      1985 Indianapolis Indians (AAA)
1986-91 West Palm Beach Expos (A)

      --------------

I found everything at this website:

I am new to this baseball site! I love it!!

I am trying to find facts on an Expos 1970's farm team, and hope someone can help me.

The team is called the Quebec (City) Carnavales, and they were the Expos Eastern League AA team. I believe they were affiliated with the Expos from 1971-77??

Does anyone know the win-loss record for each year? Where I could find scores, rosters, etc? I don't own early Expos media guides, but that could be my best route.

Anything anyone could share with me on this team would be wonderful!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it!!

I believe this team is called the Jamestown Jammers now and they are affiliated with the Florida Marlins.

Randy Johnson went 0-3 in his first season with Jamestown in 1985!

                    Nostalgia

I played in the Montreal Expos system in 1970 and 1971. I started '70 with the Bradenton Expos and then went to West Palm Beach in August. Was with them and started a game in the playoffs. I played for the Expos team in the Florida Instructional League in '70 then with the Jamestown Falcons in '71. Many of the players listed in the above post regarding the Quebec Carnavals were teammates/friends. The Expos had a great organization in those days.

Well, Ex Expo, let me begin by welcoming you to baseball fever. Hope you'll stick around to tell us more about your experiences in the Spos farm system. Like, what was the life in the minor league system for a team that was just getting started, who were the coaches you played for, how did you feel being from the US (I guess) under contract with A) an expansion team and B) an expansion team from Canada. I'd be curious to read about that and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

                      Again, welcome.

Welcome EX EXPO!!! Like Gus (and every Expo fan) I would love to hear about your career with the Expos!

I own a signed 1971 Carnavals ball. Likely you would know the majority of the players. The players are:

                          Steve Angelo
                          Bombo Rivera
                          Pat Brown
                          Bob Hansen
                          Rick Turner
                          Larry Stroman
                          Bob Williams
                          Jim Covington
                          Bob Babcock
                          Willie James
                          Mike Easom
                          Jim Chapman
                          John W. Reid
                          Steve Wagner
                          Dave Hartman
                          Paul Sullivan
                          George Nolan (or Zolan)
                          Red (Romel) Canada
                          Keith Lefevre

There are 4 or 5 other sigs which aren't legible.

I have enjoyed the links provided by other members. I haven't been able to find Carnavals info. on George Nolan (Zolan). Perhaps he never played for the team at all.

I found this last spring on eBay: a replica of the Winnepeg Whips home jersey (I didn't win it, though... %^*(^!!) and an isolated view of the team logo, with all the classy characteristic graphics befitting the Expos' "look"!

I will post the Quebec Carnival logo when I get home...

                              Enjoy!

And a heartfelt welcome to Ex-Expo! We are honored by your presence and look forward to hearing any thoughts you might want to share about your Expos experience! Alas, since the 2004 "Diaspora", genuine Expo stories from the inside will be incresaingly hard to find....

                              Again, Bienvennue!
