For the third year in a row, Stade Olympique will host an MLB exhibition series.

Will they top 95,000+ again for the Red Sox/Blue Jays series next spring?

I would love to see a team come back to Montreal. I enjoyed the Expos games I attended.

I think so. If they could do it with the Mets and Reds in town, it should be a slam dunk with the Red Sox due to the close proximity to Vermont and New England.

Back in 2001, when the Expos were drawing nobody to their games, a Sunday afternoon visit by Boston brought in 32,000 fans. Check out how the rest of that home stand played out:

This is among the reasons that I want any new Montreal team to be an American League franchise. Between the Sox, the Jays and the Yankees all being in-division that's a large shot in the arm for the attendance of any Montreal franchise, especially with the unbalanced schedule. Fans from any one of those regions can get to Montreal in either a short flight or a long drive and Montreal would have an opportunity to cash in if their ticket prices are cheaper than the cost of a domestic ticket plus travel expenses. Considering the staggering prices of tickets for at least 2 of those franchises (I don't know Toronto pricing, but I imagine it isn't cheap these days since the team is good and Toronto is a very rich city) I'd say give Montreal an AL East team and their sustainability goes up enormously.

                  They have to be resourceful.
