Speaking of Clyde Klutz, where the hell is the Boston Braves' site?

Do you mean Luis Red Treadway?

              RE: Alltime NY Giants Team

I mean Thadford Leon (Red) Treadway, who played a bit for the '44 and '45 Giants, patrolling the outfield with Ott, Rucker, Gardella, etc.

No record of any "Luis" Treadway.

My baseball encyclopedia lists him as Luis Red Treadway; it lists no Thadford Leon. Since this gentleman is a key member of your "alltime NY Giants team" and one of the cornerstones of the once proud New York Giants' baseball tradition, it behooves us to get it right. Perhaps the versatile Steffo, who is moderating so much, can lend us a bit of moderator's expertise and tell us which Treadway we are talking about.

Luis Francisco Treadway ("Red"), born April 28, 1920 in Athalone, NC. He played for the Giants in 1944 and 1945 and compiled the glowing stats that earned him a place on the "alltime NY Giants Team."

                    RE: Alltime NY Giants Team

baseball-reference.com lists THADFORD LEON TREADWAY, born April 28, 1920 in Athlone, NC, and shows that he played in a grand total of 138 games for the Giants in '44 and '45.

I think our two Treadways are one and the same. Further, I think it unlikely that someone born in Athlone, NC with the last name "Treadway" would be christened with the obvious Hispanic name of "Luis Francisco."

I'll go with Thadford Leon...unless Steffo (or Giant) can find evidence to the contrary.

                      RE: Alltime NY Giants Team

Thadford Leon Treadway is the only one I can find resources including Baseball-reference and the one and only baseball-almanac.
                      You have to trust Sean.

I trust Steve and, of course, the formidable Steffo, but who the hell is Sean?

Sean is the all-seeing, all-knowing, over-worked, under-appreciated guy who is the webmaster of Baseball Almanac who we all owe a debt of thanks for providing us this opportunity for exchanging our views and providing us with a fabulous reference site. Thank-you Sean.
Let's rid baseball of the pestilence of the DH now and forever!

And would Sean characterize your appearance here as an "invasion"?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jul-01-02 AT 03:51 PM (EDT)]All Time New York Giants Team:

                              Catcher - Gus Mancuso
                              First Base- Bill Terry
                              Second Base - Frankie Frisch
                              Shortstop - Travis Jackson
                              Third Base- Dick Bartell
                              Left Field- Ross Youngs
                              Centerfield - Willie Mays
                              Right Field - Mel Ott
                              LHP - Carl Hubbell
                              RHP- Sal Maglie

I chose Maglie but Christy Matherson or "Iron Man" McGinnity would certain qualify as the righted handed pitchers. Rube Marquard or "Prince" Hal Schmaucher would be an excellent choices as the lefthanded pitchers as well.
