Finally, there is a book on the life of Horace Stoneham. It is authored by Steve Treder and is captioned "Forty Years a Giant The Life of Horace Stoneham." I recently heard a podcast with Mr. Treder promoting the book. The interview was intriguing to me, so I ordered it. It was published in June 2021 and is available on Amazon.

History basically presents him as a stooge for Walter O'Malley and a rube for SanFran officials who wooed him.

Steve is an excellent writer and knows a lot about baseball history. He used to write regularly for The Hardball Times. I saw this book and added it to my "wish list" for Christmas. If I don't unwrap it at the end of the month, I'll probably be ordering a copy early next year.
