On July 11, 1949 the New York Giants played the Brooklyn Dodgers...............and the New York Yankees in Yankee Stadium.

Played on the Mon (off day) of the All Star break. (The All Star Game was played the following day @ Ebbets Field.)

It was the Night Of Champions - Ruth, Gehrig & Herb Pennock.

The game was a fund raiser for Cancer (Ruth), ALS (Gehrig) & Heart Disease (Pennock).

Each team played 6 innings. Three against each team.

The fans saw a 9 inning game.

I've seen the program and copied the cover and roster/scorecard page.

Does anybody have any info. on this game?

many years ago i replayed the 1949 season with APBA baseball. I read microfilm articles in the library about 1949, and remeber seeing that "game"

It was during the All Star break-I remember reading Ted Williams playing in an exhibition game that night in Mass, then taking the train to Brooklyn for the game the next day

wasn't much of an All Star "break" in those days
