Al Brancato, a shortstop who set the modern day record for errors in a season (61 with the 1941 Philadelphia Athletics, passed away June 14 sixteen days after his 93rd birthday. Brancato, who played between 1939 and 1945, was one of the last few survivors to have played major leagues baseball in the 1930s.
