    1955 Kansas City Athletic, Jerry Schypinski passed away on March 25, 2019 at the age of 87. 1955 was Schypinski's only year in the major leagues.

    Jose Santiago was also a Negro Leagues player with the 1947 New York Cubans, who won that year's Negro Leagues title. Santiago's teammates included Luis Tiant Sr.(at the end of his career) and and Minnie Minoso (at the start of his)..

    Thank you for the info. I started updating these lists when I noticed players were dying and the originators of the lists were no longer updating them for whatever reasons. Most of these players must have fallen into the gap between an originator's ending updating and my starting, (IDK for sure but anyway I will make the changes above.)

    Following the death of St. louis Browns first baseman, Chuck Stevens on 5/28/2018 (MLB Career: 1941, 1946-1948), Philadelphia Athletics 1941 and 1942 righthanded pitcher Fred Caligiuri becomes the oldest living major player. He is 99 years and 7 months of age (birthdate: 10/22/1918).
