  • White Hats

Do you remember when the expansion Senators wore white hats during the 1967 season? They wore them as a protest when they played against the Kansas City A's, who wore white shoes. In several games between the two teams, they both wore white hats, the A's, of course, wore their white shoes, and the Senators wore their sanitary socks without the usual stirrups. It didn't take long before the Senators' hats were banned by, I believe, A.L. President Joe Cronin. The hat in the photo was worn by Senators reliever Dave Baldwin. cap.png
