  • Former Senators player Hillis Layne passes away

    Third baseman Hillis Lane played his entire three-year career with the Senators, in the years 1941, 1944 and 1945. He hit .264 in 107 big league games. He recently passed away.

      He also had a phenomenal minor league career: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillis_Layne A few batting titles and 17 years playing pro ball ain't too shabby.
